A ambulance driven by a local rescue squad member was involved in a fatal accident today. Killing the driver and the patient they were transporting. Though I did not know this person well, it still hits close to home, it could have been any of us. It could have been one of my friends And knowing that it’s not I am thankful. But anything can happen in a blink of an eye, as those of us in this “job” whether career or volunteer know too well.I wish no one would ever have to go through what the fire and ems community in my county is going through right now. No one should loose a “brother” so I ask that those of y’all out there please keep my friends and fellow emergency personal in your thoughts and prayers tonight.
I found this on facebook a little while ago and nothing is more fitting
“hopes that while we mourn the loss of a brother and someone we serve, pray for the recovery of another and stand strong behind those affected that we all take a few minutes to think about our safety and the safety of those we serve. We should honor these folks by making sure that EVERYONE goes HOME.”
