ABOUT
Anything from training articles to calls that we have gone on in my area, to issues going on in the fire service around the country. Whatever I feel as important. I would also like a place to record calls to be able to look back on in twenty years or so. This isn't just limited to firefighting as a first responder it will also be covering ems.

[these are my opinions and they do not reflect on my department in anyway]

There’s a phrase I often heard growing up, and it applies to what we do:  either shit or get off the pot.
Make this job yours.  Own it.  This is no social club, no factory job, no easy life.  It deserves your sweat, your focus, and every bit of effort you can spare.
Those who came before you are expecting you to live up to the reputation they set, and hoping you’ll exceed it.  The families of your coworkers want to know that their loved ones will make it home okay because you were capable and willing to give your all.  The public needs you, even when they don’t realize it or acknowledge it, and they need you at your best in every single thing you do…even the small stuff.
If you can’t live up to these expectations — if that’s too much to ask — then you don’t belong.  I don’t mean to be rude, but that’s just how it is.  Shit, or get off the pot.
